A box style for every box.
From rigid boxes to shaped inserts. Each style has its own construction rules, checked on physical samples: from three measurements come the flat layout, cutting die, 3D with the real paper, yield and quote.
Base & lid
A two-piece box, lid with a rim. The lip is calculated from the board thickness.
- Sheet sizes, yield and paper and board quantities kept separate for base and lid.
- If a piece does not fit the sheet, the summary flags it.
- The same price in the column, in the summary and in the bar: the total uses the quotation's three-decimal unit price.
Three-piece
Body, lid on top and base underneath. Three layouts consistent with one another, with tolerances that let the lid slide on without play.
- Paper and board layouts for each of the three pieces.
- Sheet yield and quote for the whole set.
Four-piece
Neck, base, lid and inner lid. The heights are enough: the four pieces are derived from them.
- Separate heights for lid, base and neck.
- Four paper layouts, four board layouts, one yield.
Magnetic
Shell with lip and magnets, flap closure. The base board and the shell board are two separate thicknesses, in millimetres: automatic lip, sheet cost, quote and material requirement follow the right component.
- New jobs start from a 1.5 mm base and a 2 mm shell; the values can be changed.
- Variants: double flap (five panels) and double cover.
- Cutting die with cuts and creases, ready for the die maker.
Handle box
A magnetic box with the handle on the base and a window in the shell. Two independent thicknesses, as in magnetic boxes; handle slots and window already in the layout and the cutting die.
Book-style with ribbon
Three panels, closed with a ribbon. The layout allows for the board thickness on the spine and the ribbon slots.
Tray & sleeve
A wrapped tray inside a printed sleeve. Remove the patch or change the overhang and the layout, overall size, yield and price update at once, and the choices carry through to the quote.
- The inner liner paper is applied to the tray.
- Sleeve and tray with separate layouts and yields.
Foam insert
Sheet with numbered cavities and the cutting grid. The cavities come from the DXF, checked for unit and scale; cutting time is calculated from the drawing with the plotter's speeds.
- Nesting of the pieces on the sheet, with preview and recalculation.
- Sequence for the guillotine and DXF export.
Shaped inserts
Trays, cavities and dividers read from the DXF or SVG and brought into 3D inside the box. The same unit and scale check, the same artwork template for the design studio.
