Built inside a box factory, on everyday jobs.
Cartis was born inside an Italian box maker, out of its production archive: 7,091 jobs and 21,399 drawings from 2018 to today. What we found in there decided what the program had to do.
What was in the archive.
The 26% margin doesn't exist at 200 pieces
Once make-ready and spoilage sheets are counted, a nominal 26% margin drops to 1.4%. That's why Cartis puts fixed job costs into every quote, without asking.
Dies ordered twice
In the tooling register, 48 sizes out of 115 were already there under another code. The die register and tooling in Cartis were born there.
Files with the wrong unit
728 DXF files out of 1,002 declared a unit different from the real one. Since then every incoming file goes through the units and scale check.
How it's made, and why.
One engine
Every function is written once and applies to every box style. Cartis grows as a single program, not as a collection of programs placed side by side.
Nothing invented
A job-costing figure nobody recorded stays empty; an imported code stays “To be checked”; colours are indicative and the physical sample decides. The program doesn't fill the gaps for you.
Your costs stay yours
Price lists and mark-ups sit in your space and by contract we don't look at them. The customer gets the box in 3D, without the prices.
It grows with the people who use it
Several box styles came from samples brought in by customers. Every release has its own notes inside the program.
An Italian box maker.
Cartis is developed by Sagomato S.r.l., an Italian box maker producing rigid boxes, shaped inserts and folding cartons for fashion, cosmetics, wine and jewellery brands. We built it for our own production; now we offer it to other box makers too. At assistenza@cartis.it you get an answer from people who make boxes, within one working day.
