Cartis grows one release at a time.
Every release has its own notes inside the program, written for the people who use it. Here are the main ones from 2026 and, below, all of them from 8.00 onwards. Current version: 8.35.
What arrived this year.
Paper catalogue with real samples
The paper picker has photographic cards and a filter. Lunar has 22 Nexus and Scuba items, in 115 and 330 g/m²; Refit adds 25 across Denim, Cotton and Wool. The texture is the same in the template and in the 3D.
Job summary
Open the job and on a single screen you find formats, closed steps, operations in progress, assignments, next action and promised delivery. The four views, Shop floor, Departments and machines, Assignments and Scheduling, stay coordinated with each other.
Deliveries: quantities and shipments
Shipments are recorded line by line, with balance, delivery note or reference, carrier and tracking. Reversals must be declared; the history keeps person, date and reason.
Stock and purchasing
Jobs are visible in Stock, receipts can be partial, every receipt has its agreed price and its actual price, and consumption is linked to the receipts actually used. No FIFO and no automatic average cost.
Job costing
For every line you record good, rejected and reworked pieces, and the actual costs excl. VAT with the reference of the check.
Two board thicknesses
Magnetic, double-flap, double-cover and handle boxes have separate base board and shell board: lip, costs, quote and 3D follow the right component.
Tooling
Every die has availability, location, expected arrival and notes. If the tool is not available, the production timer won't start.
Print plans compared
Three plans side by side: “Fewer sheets”, “Reduce print layouts”, “Minimum print layouts”. In a real case, 4 print layouts across 281 sheets instead of 10 across 280.
In the program's own words.
The text is that of the release notes; preview features are not listed.

- The fix concerns the arrangement of the cards: no change to catalogues, colours, prices, availability or job data.
- Approved artwork, filters and grammages stay coordinated. Custom catalogues, prices, availability and job data are not changed.
- Clicking a sample applies the paper immediately when it has a single variant. With several grammages the explicit choice via the button remains: the selected paper reaches the Template through the native command.
- One card per colour and surface, with explicit native grammages. Refit brought together, Denim/Cotton/Wool families kept distinct; search by alias and readable filters. Commercial and colour customisations keep precedence.
- Photographic samples revised for Twill, Crush, Sparto, Remake and The Tube; Violet recovered from the correct source, Piombo kept as it is doubtful. Photographic texture consistent between Template and 3D; HideHD distinct from Safiano. Lunar keeps its semi-gloss sheen, Refit its matt finish.
- No automatic migration, price, stock level, order or company save. Colours remain indicative: approval on the physical sample. Grammages not present are not created from the photograph.
- The paper picker uses cards with real samples, a visible filter and short animations compatible with reduced motion. Refit adds 25 Denim, Cotton and Wool items from the Nikon photos, with distinct fibres and FM, linked to the catalogue, Template and 3D. Prices and stock levels remain to be checked.
- Favini Lunar: 22 Nexus and Scuba items, in 115 and 330 g/m², with names read from the photos, RAW tints, distinct micro-embossings and a semi-gloss sheen in the 3D. Template and catalogue share the samples. No price or balance generated from the photos.
- The Materials overview brings together required, reserved and missing with the native Stock comparison, plus ordered and received from confirmed purchases and linked goods-in. Quantities keep their original units; unverified links and unreadable records remain To be checked.
- Purchasing and Stock open on the same job, even without a delivery date, with a direct way back to the overview. General orders stay separate, partial receipts and reversals keep their history; no reservation, receipt or status is written from this summary.
- The Summary brings together next action, promised delivery, assignments and declared operators. Blocks and checks lead to the original steps and resources, with the format always shown.
- Open a job for the new Summary: formats, closed steps, operations in progress and assignments. From each step you reach its detail; Materials and resources gathers the original fields and the links to Resources and batches.
- Follow the job in Shop floor, Departments and machines and Assignments. The context stays visible as you move between tabs; All jobs restores the list. Scheduling keeps the overall machine load and the dependencies of the other jobs.
- The four Production views share neutral surfaces, consistent cards and controls. Short transitions accompany the change of view and respect reduced motion.
- The Nesting sheet fits the preview space and the large window. The piece detail scrolls separately; Fit and Enlarge keep the native controls.
- In the large preview the title, the close button and the notes stay on screen even when the controls are enlarged. Text and measurements keep the correct contrast in the light and dark themes.
- Titles, measurements, statistics, legend and solution comparison follow the light or dark theme. Larger text in the enlarged preview too; the cutting plan stays white.
- Batches, quick formats and calculation depth have neutral backgrounds. Border and tick mark the active choice; secondary buttons and icons follow the same style, in the dark theme too.
- The Nesting column has sections ordered by study, material, pieces and calculation. Recalculate and View preview stay within reach; measurements, shapes and controls are easier to read.
- Production filters and counters are compact and spread across the whole bar. Imported archive and tools sit on the same strip; details open when needed.
- The Essential view fits its six columns to the available width. Customer, delivery, status, next action, quantity and assignment stay visible together. Rows are more compact; full details open from the job.
- The archive updates in Production as soon as the read is ready, even after a direct page reload. While waiting, Loading the archive is shown. Filters and view stay as chosen.
- Incoming jobs update the screen without interrupting fields being edited or the open job. Links to jobs, departments, scheduling and tools keep the native controls and checks.
- Production: six-column Essential list, Matrix by department and Management fields. The job gathers Formats, Steps, Notes, Management and Records; from the step detail you move to the queue for the same job. Departments, quantities, blocks and controls remain the native ones.
- A proposal that changes the product shows the values before and after: you can cancel, or confirm after checking with the customer and, on trial modules, with a sample. The search leaves the original values untouched.
- If the price list is incomplete, the Consultant compares square metres and sheets and shows no savings in money. Prices come from the quote and are not actual purchase costs.
- In Board and holes the summary shows the front closure, with half or full fixed flap, and the actual x/y positions of the magnets. Removed an edge distance that belonged to the Double cover and appeared as NaN. Styles, costs, drawings and exports remain the native ones.
- If only one thickness is saved in the old format, Check thicknesses compares the original with what is on screen. Choose whether to keep it for base and shell or to separate them: normally 1.5 and 2 mm, editable. Preparing does not save: confirm with Update. The Double cover also shows and requires confirmation of the automatic lip. No other format changes on its own.
- Read dimensions also uses local optical reading on the chosen page: figures and units remain to be confirmed. Layout measurements and scale reuses the text already read, keeping tolerance, wall and finished height separate. The PDF viewer adapts to the zoom of the controls.
- Nesting tells the codes apart with muted tints in the preview and protects the change of section during calculation. Labels separates file, preview and properties: on wide desktops the properties are on the right, on narrower screens below the sheet. Geometry and exports remain native.
- One compact row per job, fixed customer and columns with icons for the steps. Counts include all formats and distinguish confirmations, ClickUp data, deductions and cycles to be checked. Press a step for details and operating controls; choose the columns or go back to the Orders and Summary views.
- In Stock, choose the receipts actually used for each consumption. Split the quantities and check the price: the history keeps corrections, person and reason. Changed prices or reversals require reconfirmation; no FIFO, average cost or cost added automatically to the job costing.
- In Stock → Verified prices you can tell at a glance: no receipt, price still to be recorded, verified free of charge, and reversed receipts. If the search finds no rows, the total still refers to all receipts.
- Record the agreed price in the purchase and the actual price of each receipt, in euros per unit and excl. VAT. Every correction keeps document, reason, person and date. The value received excludes reversals; receipts without a price remain unvalued. No cost is derived from the quote or assigned automatically to consumption.
- Sections opens the full menu. Options and View use the full available width, without losing your changes. Navigation also adapts to the size of the controls; wide tables, calendars and drawings scroll within their own panel.
- Deliveries → Quantities and shipments: record shipments line by line, look up balances, delivery note/reference, carrier and tracking. Explicit reversals and the history keep person, date and reason. Interrupted confirmations can be resumed without duplicating the shipment.
- The job costing window stays on screen: header, close button and export visible, content and fields scroll within the available space.
- ProductionActual pieces. From Production open Job costing, choose the job and record the line totals: good, rejected and reworked. Leave blank whatever you have not yet recorded. Correcting updates the summary while keeping the previous record, with person, date and reason.
- ProductionCosts and consumption. Declare the actual costs excl. VAT with the reference of the check. Empty categories remain unknown and the total is partial. Consumption is read from Stock, net of reversals; purchases and reservations stay separate. Times and steps keep their own controls.
- StockConfirmed items. The link between requirement and item is kept on the stock record. Confirm material, colour, format and destination; every choice or removal stays in the history with person, date and reason.
- StockPartial receipts. From Receive purchase choose the confirmed order and the item, record quantity and document. Cartis shows received and balance and blocks goods-in beyond the quantity ordered or with incompatible units. The purchase that has arrived stays separate from the actual goods-in.
- StockTwo jobs. Split free material by entering two quantities and a reason. The reservations are confirmed together: if there is not enough material, both remain to be checked.
- StockJobs in Stock. Choose the job and compare the material required with items, consumption, reservations and free availability. Check the item by its format, thickness, colour and location. Requirements for the same item are added together; reservations and consumption always require confirmation.
- Purchasing · StockPurchasing. An order in kg no longer reduces a requirement in sheets; an order assigned to another job does not cover the selected one. Orders without a unit or a certain link remain to be checked. Goods ordered are separate from stock on hand: the actual goods-in must be recorded.
- QuoteBreak-even. Zero margin no longer produces arbitrary thresholds or contradictory messages. The detail distinguishes the linear estimate from the full calculation, which includes the foil minimum. If the threshold is not reached, the verified limit of two million pieces is shown. Costs and prices keep the same precision.
- SettingsConflicting notes. Choose the PC data or the backup data for each difference before merging. Distinct rows remain; the author and recipients of existing Notes keep their current access. Other people's private copies are not shown. If the Notes change during the comparison, re-read the copies before proceeding.
- Share with the customerSharing. A company name such as Costi Srl (“costi” is Italian for costs) no longer blocks the document when it is the public name of the company or the customer. Industrial data and values stay protected.
- Job proofsProofs. Withdrawing a proof frees a slot for the active ones. Withdrawn links, images and replies stay in the history; repeated submissions of the same reply do not duplicate it.
- Quote · summary and quantity breaksClear amounts. Quotation total equals the unit price to three decimals multiplied by the pieces. The detail distinguishes the internal calculated revenue from the rounding difference.
- AdministrationAdministration. The new Audit section separates connected people, logins, events and changes to jobs. Filter by box maker, person, job and period; export events to CSV.
- AdministrationWorkstations. The owner can authorise a maximum number of browsers per person, rename them and revoke them. Tabs in the same browser share one workstation. If the limit comes up, ask the owner to free a workstation before signing in from a new browser.
- SettingsMerging notes. A restore also keeps the local Notes and the distinct rows from the backup. If the text, rows or permissions of the same identifier differ, it stops before writing and flags the conflict.
- QuoteQuotation templates. Before the PDF, the price list, company details and the price of every item are checked. The amount derives from the unit price stated to three decimals; quantity breaks have the correct headings. With no days defined, the new templates say “Delivery to be agreed”.
- RecogniseReal scale. Enter H or L/Ø and check the view. Choose the nominal shape, the path from the photo or the correction in the editor. A path without a scale remains editable; to export it in millimetres a real measurement is needed.
- SettingsLayouts compared. In the PDF open Read dimensions, then Scale, layouts and scan. For a cross-layout Base & lid you check the two highlighted pieces and the scale, then get the proposed total tolerance and wall height. Confirming keeps the drawing references.
- Die PDFScans and paths. Read scan recognises text on the device. Values must be checked against the PDF; written dimensions can be transcribed with their reference. Finished height and clearance after wrapping remain separate from the wall of the open board.
- Sidebar · BoardSingle thickness. Base & lid, three-piece and four-piece boxes continue to use a single board for their components. You set it in the product sidebar.
- Magnetic · Double flap · Double cover · Handle boxBase and shell. The Handle box also has two independent thicknesses. New magnetic jobs start from base 1.5 mm and shell 2 mm. Values already saved stay unchanged; costs, quote, purchasing and 3D follow the correct component.
- Template · Board inner faceTemplate. The board thickness field and summary have been removed. Black, White and Laminated with paper remain, with the description of the inner finish.
- Magnetic · MeasurementsTwo thicknesses. Magnetic and Double flap boxes also have separate base board and shell board in mm. Automatic lip, sheet cost, quote and material requirement follow the correct component. Old projects without a base thickness keep the previous value.
- Template · Board inner faceBoard inner face. In the Template choose Black, White or Laminated with paper. Enter the paper name, colour or code; the declaration follows the project and appears in the documents. Previous choices of item and liner paper remain available.
- Jobs · Quote and purchasingSaved jobs. Quote and purchasing also read the measurements and thicknesses of the saved drawing, when the job does not yet have the Quote parameters. The sheets required follow that box.
